April 2026 Newsletter

A future home for adults with disabilities — built with purpose, dignity, and community in mind.

Dear Sanctuary Family,

Spring has arrived in North Georgia, and with it, new signs of life and progress at The Sanctuary. As we continue building a safe, affordable, and faith-centered community for adults with disabilities—a place where they can live, work, play, and worship—we’re grateful to share how God has been moving this past month.

Right now, every gift is matched dollar for dollar up to $100,000.

As part of our 40 Days to the Finish Line, this is a powerful moment to help move The Sanctuary closer to completion.

Construction Update
A lot has happened since our last update. The siding and windows are now complete on both the Caregivers Cottage/Community Center and the Resident Cottage.

Inside the Caregivers Cottage/Community Center, rough-in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC are finished and awaiting inspection. We’re excited to move into the next phase, with insulation and drywall coming very soon.

Each step brings us closer to welcoming residents home.

Community Partner Spotlight

This month, we’re honored to share “WHY” one of our newest board members, a former staff member, and her husband chose to support The Sanctuary as monthly partners.

“Hutch and Cindy are pioneering something that hasn’t been done before, filling a great need for some of God’s most special creations. This mission is especially meaningful to us, as Erin’s younger brother, Nate, has special needs. We’ve seen firsthand the difference it makes when people feel valued and are given a place to shine.

We believe in the work that is happening, the community that will be created, and the lives that will be changed because of it. It’s an honor to be part of what the Lord is doing at The SONG.”

Grateful for the craftsmanship and generosity of the J.P. Millworks team

Community Partner Spotlight

We want to thank our wonderful partners at J.P. Millworks of Cumming, Georgia, for custom building and installing the exterior doors for the Caregivers Cottage.

Their skill and generosity are a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together with a shared purpose.

The Work Continues

Every nail, beam, and door represents a step closer to welcoming residents and caregivers into a place designed for flourishing.

But there is still more to be done—and your partnership is what helps carry this work forward.

Would you consider becoming a monthly partner with The Sanctuary of North Georgia?

Recurring giving provides the steady, reliable support needed to continue building, planning, and preparing for the community ahead. It allows us to move forward with confidence, knowing that each month brings us closer to opening our doors.

Right now, every gift is matched, doubling the impact of your support.

Whether you become a monthly partner or start with a one-time gift of $50, $100, or $250, your support helps create homes filled with hope, dignity, and belonging.

Why Give Monthly?
Monthly and quarterly giving is one of the most impactful ways to support The Sanctuary.

As a monthly partner, your gifts:

  • Provide meaningful job opportunities
  • Support enriching social and recreational programs
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and beautiful home for our residents

Your ongoing support makes a lasting difference—for today and for generations to come.

With much gratitude,
Hutch and Cindy Matteson
